Lovely colours do work in interiors

I often wonder if I get over excited about my use of colour, but here is living proof that it looks nothing but fantastic in many a home.....

Pottery

Isnt this man clever - Lars Gergersen...I love the colours that hes chosen.  I am very excited about an order I have just made with him which should be arriving in a week or so....my very kind sister has given me one of his mugs, which will be coming in the order...http://www.soendergaarddesign.co.uk/Frontpage.html

Nanny McPhee

I couldnt continue my blog without something about Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang - I am OBSESSED!!  I love it and could watch it over and over again...the detail in the set design and the clothes are just all so wonderful and homely.  I think it is simply marvellous and I am using the set design as great inspiration as I decorate my new home....

Colourful stationery

I love the simplicity of Nordic design - always so clean and fresh.  See this rather lovely paper shop that uses interesting patterns combined with lovely colours.  Very inspiring and something I will bare in mind as I continue to grow my collection - which you can see very very soon!http://www.rieeliselarsen.dk/page/about

Some of my very first designs

Here are some of my very first designs that I still use for cards.  I am soon to add a flamingo and a giraffe to the collection....I like to add a pink necklace to each of the animals I draw...just because I dont think one should ever go without a touch of pink.

I came across these pictures today and couldnt resist adding them to my blog - not necessarily relevant to wallpapers and lampshades, but WOW...what bums!! I loved the arty way in which they have been shot.

Building my website

While my sister Em was here we also did some preliminary shots for my website. I am rather excited.  The idea is to show some of my products in a real setting...so some of the things you see will be for sale and I am afraid some will not!  Yes, the setting is my home and the peeling wallpaper is not some trendy idea of design - its simply the way it is right now - on its way off - soon to be replaced by the first mbd wallpaper - watch this space.....

Sisterly love

I have just had my (younger) sister to stay for a few days which not only mixed up the normality of our week, but came as a great blessing to me as Lani was ill and I needed another pair of hands. It was heaven having her here, I miss not having my family around more often, we all live so far apart and its the most natural thing when they are here, so thank you Em for hankering down with us during this cold snowy period. Em is becoming a photographer worth knowing about and so in celebration of her marvellous website I am showing some of her photographs. As a double celebration I have chosen the pictures she has taken of my other sisters house and work; she is an interior designer and a very good one at that! So here for all of you out there that can appreciate style, colour and composition is a bit of 'sisterly love'.
